FAQ's
Q. I'm getting married in Cornwall / Scotland (for eg.) do you cover this area.
A. Beetle Drive cover up to 100 miles from our base CV9 2PH and a maximum travelling time of up to 2 hours with some of our vehicles and less in the winter months. Not all of our cars will travel this far due to age and speed and may be limited to 80 miles maximum. Casper, Jimmy, Wilma, Heidi, Demis, Herbie & Pepi are subject to 80 miles radius and less during the winter months. These cars are not very fast so the time taken to get to you is increased. We may be able to give you contacts to try in these other areas. Try this page click
Q. I can't find a price list, how much is it to Yorkshire (for eg.)?
A. We can only put our local prices onto the web site. If you are outside of our local 20 miles radius we need to have information and post codes from you for the pick up address, ceremony and reception and the car/s you are interested in. We can then give you a cost of hire based on the information you give us. If you are over our maximum 100 miles (& 2 and hours travel time) away we may not be able to provide transport for your wedding. Remember everybodies wedding is different so please contact us with your information. We may not travel as far in the winter months.
Please note: Some areas may not be 100 miles away from our base but due to having no motorway networks the time it takes to get to you may be greatly increased and therefore not viable for us to drive there. For EG. Norfolk area.
Q. I have a school prom/ Birthday in London (for eg.) how much will it cost to hire a limo?
A. Sorry do to a change in the law special occasions hire is no longer available.
Q. I have 6 bridesmaids and a flower girl, can we get them all into Mark/ Big Ron/ Casper. The flower girl is only 2 years old and very small.
A. Our Limousines and campers carry a maximum of 6 passengers regardless of size or age. I'm sure they would fit at a squeeze but we will not drive with an overloaded vehicle. It is an insurance requirement not a matter of who can be squeezed in.
Q. I have 6 bridesmaids / Ushers. Two of them are big Rugby players will they all get in to your limo's?
A. You need to remember our Limo seats are the same size as Beetle seats in an ordinary saloon. Would you be able to fit two rugby playing bridesmaids/ushers into a saloon? If you think not then they will not fit into the Limos either. If your party are bigger people I would suggest only 4 passengers at a time.
Don't forget that it may be possible to do two trips with our cars depending on the distance and time it takes to get there and back to your ceremony.
Q. I only live 2 miles from the ceremony, could you do a couple of trips with the groom, bridesmaids/ Mum first?
A. Yes. You will need to mention this to us on your enquiry as we would need to work out appropriate timings.
Q. I need to be picked up at 12:00 and the ceremony is at 1:00 and we would expect to be at our reception at 2:30. Would you be able to take us on to our hotel after the reception at 11:30 PM
A. Our wedding car hire time is 3-4 hours from first collection time. If you require extra time this is chargable at £25 per hour cash on the day. The answer to the evening return is likely to be no unless you are only up to 15 miles from our base and we are able to return to base and then come out in the evening as a separate chargeable hire.
Q. I have a beetle, would you be able to bring extra ribbons for our car?
A. Yes, we often dress other vehicles to match our cars for you. Just ask.
Q. Could we go off after the ceremony for photos at the park, to put flowers onto a grave, to visit gran in a home?
A. Yes, we are happy to do this. Miles permitting.
Q. Will my dress fit???
A. We are always asked this, generally the answer is yes, there is more room than you might think and we have been putting brides into our cars for over 4 years. We have not failed yet and have had some lovely large and long dresses. Herbie & Pepi have slightly less room then the cabriolets. We take the hoods down to help you get into the car easily. Our cabriolet Wilma is known as 'Wilma dress fit!'.....
Q. How much is it to hire a limo for a day?
A. It is not sufficient information to just ask this question. We need to know where you would like to be picked up from, where you would like to go and the time you would need the car. A day could mean 8 hours or 24 hours.
Q. I want to hire a camper to go on holiday in, how much is it for a week?
A. I'm sorry we do not provide a self drive service. Our cars come with a chauffeur only there are companies around that will provide this type of hire.
Q. How much is it to go to Heathrow airport?
A. Airport service no longer available
Q. Can I take suit cases and luggage in the cars?
A. Beetles were never blessed with any great boot space, we can not carry suit cases, they will have to be taken in a separate vehicle.
Q. Do you have an umbrella in the car?
A. Yes, our cars do carry umbrellas for rainy days.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE - CHILD CAR SEATS
Please contact us if you have children who will be travelling on our vehicles. The new law that came into force on 18th September 2006 requires children to travel with booster seats and for the younger passengers full car seats. We do not carry these seats in our vehicles as there are so many different types. You WILL need to provide the booster seats for the children travelling in the vehicles and you will be required to fit them where seat belts are available. Not all of our cars have rear belts due to their age, and this is considered to be an unsafe way to travel. If belts are not fitted then you can not wear them and not install a seat. Any person under 3 years of age can not travel without a car seat. New beetles are only equipped with 2 rear seat belts, some of the older classic cars do not have rear seat belts as stated on their relevant page, see these vehicle names below.
CHILD SEAT LAW click here for the full low down on the rules, new page will open for Department Of Transport web site.
The following Beetle Drive cars DO NOT have rear seat belts and may be unsuitable for children under 3 years. Lola, Demis, Jimmy, Heidi, Wilma, Casper, Herbie, Pepi, These cars do have front seat belts.
