Unfortunately two things in live are a certainty, Death and taxes. VW Funerals are offering a completely different alternative in transport for the journey as a final tribute.

We have been researching the need for this type of service for over 2 years, we have been able to provide suitable vehicles for the cortege and we are very proud to announce that we have at long last found a suitable vehicle to complete our unique VW funeral car fleet. Our VW hearse will be able to give families more choice of distinct funeral vehicles to reflect the personality of the loved one.

We offer our fleet of six vehicles in white coachwork as an alternative for families who do not require the traditional black vehicles, white also symbolises peace.

Our Hearse has a black flag on the roof and we are happy to apply a single black ribbon on the bonnets and the front of the hearse as a sign of respect and dignity, this also helps other road users to see that there is a funeral procession.

VW Funerals are now able to offer our recently imported from Belgium VW 'type 26' Bay coach built Hearse, the only one of it's type offered in this country. It has been painted in white to match our stretched VW Beetles and split screen bus for the cortege. Limousines can each seat up to six people, Bus up to 6 passengers*. 

Our 21 window splitscreen bus is available for funeral hire.

Our new addition Otis is identical to the hearse and is now available for funeral hire as a matching pair.

We will work in partnership with your undertaker and liase with them,  you can give us your transport requirements directly however with and we will contact the Funeral Directors.

VW Funerals fleet includes our VW  hearse, two matching classic stretched Beetles, which are the modern Mexican Cars for reliability the UK's only New Beetle Limousine. Our new addition a matching 1969 bay window bus and our 1963 VW 21 window Samba split screen bus  in matching white paint, are perfect to follow the Hearse.

There are so many things you can do to celebrate the life of a person, Eureka Jazz played while we followed behind at West Bromwich Crematorium red and white balloons were also released after the ceremony, this was a indeed fantastic funeral.

Volkswagen funeral cars will remind everyone on the day that your loved one had individuality and was a character with style and reflect their life.

Subject to availability and your location as we are Midlands based you may wish to choose a totally different vehicle all together from our selection of unique wedding vehicles. You may even wish to have Herbie head the cortege perhaps if the sad loss is of a young person, it's up to you.

Remember you don't have to use the Funeral Directors own cars many companies are very happy to arrange the transport of your choice wether it's a Volkswagen or a horse and carriage hearse. Your loved one was an individual so do something unique! Their funeral will certainly be remembered as the one that stood out from the crowd.

VW Funerals have an all white fleet of funeral cars.

This Volkswagen hearse is available for funerals.

This unique vehicle was factory commissioned and coach built by Fritz Freckinger in Germany and is one of very few still remaining in the world and the only one to be in operation in the UK as a funeral vehicle if not the World. This vehicle is known as a Volkswagen Type 26 Hearse conversion as used by undertakers but never commissioned for actual funeral use! Until now.

The Hearse fully restored in December 2007 is  available for hire.

You can also use the hearse as a flower car if there are a large amount of floral tributes, to go behind a traditional hearse.

The black flag on the roof is a mark of respect as the vehicle is white also this provides a signal to other road users that a funeral is in procession.

If your loved one was a 'V Dubber' it is a wonderful tribute to have a VW or two following within the cortege for them. At funerals people are often unsure if it is appropriate to take photographs. This is entirely up to you and your family, we certainly have no problem with this. Please let us know if the hearse is required to stay after the committal for your family and friends to see and if required to take photographs.

We are also very happy to continue to work along with funeral directors vehicles if you would prefer the modern hearse.

* our stretched VW Beetles can cater for up to 6 passengers, however this is also dependent on the size of the passenger as the two rear passenger seats are a standard saloon car size each. The front passenger seat may be used more space is required. Not suitable for for routes with humpback bridges or very high speed bumps.

Our new 21 Window split screen bus is available for Funeral hire. This Bus can seat up to 6 passengers and is perfect to compliment the Bay Hearse. This Bus is painted in matching white paint and has a beige interior.

The glass you see here will be replaced with clear for view of the coffin and flowers and a rear window installed. A Hearse 'bier' or coffin deck will be fitted and flower rails. This hearse will also have interior lighting for the darker months, this is a totally unique funeral vehicle and probably the only one in operation for funerals in the World!

The hearse is now painted as you can see and the interior has just been completed in Burgundy by Martyn Beddow at Auto Interiors, Unit 6 Moat way, Barwell Leics. 01455 847900. Many thanks to Martyn we're really pleased with it! Our thanks to Charlie (of Camper crisis and Beetle crisis Discovery channel fame) in Bedworth for the respray.

The glass is made to measure by Gary AB&C Windscreens Leicestershire 01455 273782 and will be installed on completion of the trim work.

We have had a bespoke flag pole made to fit the roof of the hearse so that other vehicles can see that it is a funeral procession. Our thanks to Vince for the brilliant flag pole!
